Maybank was incorporated on 31 May 1960 and commenced operations on 12 September 1960.

It was listed on the Kuala Lumpur Stock Exchange (now known as Bursa Malaysia) on 17 February 1962.

Its internet banking website, Maybank2u.com, is the No.1 Internet banking website in Malaysia with more than 3.8 million registered users and a market share of over 54%.
