Pahang State Executive Councillors
The new Pahang State Executive Councillors, selected from the successful state assemblymen following the 12th Malaysian General Elections 2008, were sworn in before the Sultan of Pahang, Sultan Haji Ahmad Shah, on the 13th of March 2008, at the Sultan’s palace in Pekan Bandar Diraja. A day earlier, Datuk Seri Adnan bin Yaakob was re-appointed as Menteri Besar (Chief Minister) and sworn in before the Sultan. This is his third term as Mentri Besar of Pahang since he was first appointed following the General Elections in 1997. MEMBERS OF THE PAHANG STATE EXECUTIVE COUNCIL The names of the new members of the Pahang State Executive Council were announced by the Menteri Besar on the 26th of March 2008 in Kuantan. Below is the list of the 2008 Pahang State Executive Councillors including the Menteri Besar. They will be the Chairmen of their respective committees and portfolios :-

CABINET MEMBERS FROM PAHANG PARLIAMENTARIANSOn the National level, seven (7) parliamentarians from Pahang were announced by the Malaysian Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi, as members of the Malaysian Federal Cabinet. Five (5) were appointed Ministers (including the Deputy Prime Minister) and two were appointed as Deputy Ministers. (However, Datuk Seri Tengku Azlan Sultan Abu Bakar later declined the post). Following is the full list of the Malaysian Cabinet members, as announced by the Prime Minister, from the state of Pahang Darul Makmur:- - Datuk Seri Mohd Najib bin Tun Abdul Razak - Deputy Prime Minister, and Minister, Defence Ministry
- Datuk Ismail Sabri Yaacob - Minister, Youth and Sports Ministry
- Datuk Dr. Ng Yen Yen – Minister, Women, Family and Community Development Ministry
- Datuk Liow Tiong Lai – Minister, Health Ministry
- S.K. Devamany - Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department
- Datuk Saiffuddin Abdullah – Deputy Minister, Entrepreneur and Co-operative Development Ministry
- Datuk Maznah Mazlan - Deputy Minister, Natural Resources and Environment Ministry.
(She was sworn-in as a Senator on April 21, 2008 and appointed as Deputy Minister on April 23, 2008. Resigned as Pahang Executive Councillor on April 23, 2008. She replaced Datuk Seri Tengku Azlan Sultan Abu Bakar, who earlier had declined appointment as Deputy Minister, Foreign Affairs.)

With the appointments of the Pahang State Executive Councillors, it is hoped that the state will further develop economically and socially, providing better standards of living for its citizens. Not least in its priorities of course is the continued development and promotion of the state of Pahang as a tourist destination of choice in Malaysia, what with its delightful and natural wonders of wildlife, flora and fauna. These new Pahang State Executive Councillors will be expected by all to serve and perform their responsibilities with greater sense of diligence and dedication, raising higher the Pahang flag for excellence and for the future well-being and greater good of the state of Pahang Darul Makmur.
