Royal Pahang Billfish International Challenge 2010 (RPBIC) Results

Well, here are the results of the Royal Pahang Billfish International Challenge (RPBIC) 2010 held from 6th-8th August 2010, at the Jeti Kompleks Rakan Muda Sukan Air, Kampung Pantai Bernas, Kuala Rompin, Pahang.

The Xzoge Singapore team represented by Jacky Ho, Sim Seng Kok and Reuben Tan emerged champions in the team event, with a haul of 27 sailfishes and 16,200 points. They took the first prize of RM15,000.

In second place was the Lemax Pro Team 1 from Malaysia represented by Tan Too Giok, Lee Hu Poh and Lim Yue Lean with 20 catches and 12,000 points, winning RM6,000.

While in third place was the Hook On Adventures Team 2, represented by Robert Gardiner, Kenneth Lee and Wong Sun Ping with 16 catches and 9,600 points, winning the RM3,300 prize.

For the individual category, Tan Kian Ann of Singapore emerged champion with 13 catches and 7,800 points, winning the RM10,000 prize.

Second was Steven Chong of Malaysia with 11 catches and 6,600 points, winning RM5,000, while Eric Lim Soon Huat of Singapore was third with 10 catches and 6,000 points, winning RM2,500.

75 participants with 13 teams captured and released a total of 205 billfishes this time, nearly doubling the haul of 108 catches last year.

Malaysian Ambassador to the USA Datuk Seri Dr. Jamaluddin bin Jarjis gave away the prizes at the ceremony held at the Serai D Lanjut Beach and Golf Resort in Rompin.
